Staying Connected Abroad

We get asked all the time and we read a lot of posts asking how people stay connected abroad, what sim cards are people getting, how much, where to get the from, how much data do they need etc

You may well have a great data plan with your mobile phone company which is awesome but a lot of places abroad there will be a big charge for even connecting to a local tower.

For example Morocco is expensive, like insanely expensive - with Sky & O2 they charge by the MB when you use the internet... What do we do then I hear you say... WE GET AN E-SIM.

They are so simple to set up, the company will give you step by step instructions on what to do anyway but there is no need to spend a fortune on your own data by using your network abroad.

These are the 2 companies we use and we have codes for both

For Morocco we used Airalo and the coverage was fantastic, we never ran out of data and it was relatively cheap too. If you choose Airalo use my code BEC1431 and you will get $3 off your plan and I will get $3 credit - thank you!

When we went to Thailand we were approached by a company called Billion Connect to provide Oli and I both an E-Sim for the duration of our trip, not having heard of them we were a bit hesitant but of course we said yes and actually it was brilliant - we always had connection, we rarely ran out of data on any given day and we had no issues with setting it up. If you are looking to give Billion Connect a whirl feel free to use my affiliate link here.

With Billion Connect you are looking at around £5 every 10 days for unlimited 5GB data.
