As a family that loves to balance adventure and relaxation, we spent 5 unforgettable days exploring this breathtaking destination. Whether you’re traveling with kids or seeking a mix of adventure and downtime, here’s our guide to making the most of your time in El Nido.
Where to stay:
Finding affordable accommodation in El Nido can be surprisingly tricky. We found it difficult to strike the right balance between comfort and value, but after some searching, we discovered Panari Lodge, a lovely beachfront stay that ended up being one of the more budget-friendly options we came across.
We paid £235 for 5 nights, which was excellent value considering its prime location right on Corong-Corong Beach. The sunsets here were absolutely magical, with uninterrupted views across the bay that made every evening unforgettable.. You can book your stay here
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation at Corong-Corong Beach
After a long journey, ease into the island vibe by checking into your accommodation. We stayed at Panari Lodge on Corong-Corong Beach, which offered stunning sunset views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for families. Spend your first afternoon unwinding on the beach, soaking in the views, and adjusting to island time. Grab dinner at one of the beachfront restaurants; the fresh seafood and laid-back ambiance are a great way to start your El Nido adventure.
Day 2: Island Hopping Tour A – Highlights of Bacuit Bay
El Nido is famous for its island-hopping tours, and Tour A is a must-do. This tour takes you to iconic spots such as the Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, and Shimizu Island. Each stop offers something unique, from kayaking through crystal-clear waters to snorkeling with vibrant marine life.
Pro Tips:
Book your tour with a reputable operator to ensure a family-friendly experience.
Bring plenty of sunscreen, water, and snacks for the kids.
Don’t forget waterproof phone cases to capture those postcard-worthy moments.
Return to Corong-Corong Beach in the evening for a relaxed family dinner and another stunning sunset.
Day 3: Nacpan Beach and Exploring Inland Gems
Dedicate this day to exploring inland attractions. Start with a trip to Nacpan Beach, about a 45-minute tricycle ride from El Nido town. Known for its powdery white sand and swaying palm trees, Nacpan Beach is perfect for swimming and relaxing with the family.
On your way back, consider stopping at the Nagkalit-Kalit Waterfalls for a short, family-friendly hike. The cool, refreshing water is a reward worth the trek.
Family Tip: Pack a picnic and plenty of water for your day trip. There are some food stalls at Nacpan Beach, but having your own snacks makes it easier with kids.
Day 4: Island Hopping Tour C – Hidden Beaches and Snorkelling
Tour C is another island-hopping adventure, taking you to hidden gems like Helicopter Island, Secret Beach, and Matinloc Shrine. This tour is ideal for families who enjoy snorkeling and discovering pristine, less-crowded spots. The underwater scenery here is simply mesmerizing, with coral reefs teeming with life.

Bring snorkeling gear suitable for kids or check with your tour operator if they provide it.
Pack water shoes to protect your feet when walking on rocky beaches.
Be prepared for slightly choppier waters compared to Tour A.
Day 5: Sunrise Kayaking and Final Beach Day
Make the most of your last day with an early morning kayak trip. The calm waters and soft morning light make for a serene family experience. Many accommodations offer kayak rentals, or you can book a guided sunrise tour.
Spend the rest of the day at Las Cabañas Beach, which is closer to Corong-Corong. It’s a great spot for swimming, enjoying a family lunch, and soaking up the final moments of paradise. If you’re up for it, take the Las Cabañas zipline for a thrilling view of the coast.
