Camp Bestival Dorset 2023

I heart camp sign
I <3 Bestival

What can we say about Camp Bestival Dorset. This festival we really had no idea what to expect, we knew we always wanted to go and we knew it would be great but this festival is really something very special. It is wild, it is huge, it is friendly, it is busy, it is grand, it is fantastic, it has a great family feel about it yet has an edgy side for families with older kids too. We went expecting nothing (like we always do) and got everything. We met some absolutely wonderful people (people we had been chatting too previously on Instagram) who we spent the whole weekend with. The rules on food and drink are relaxed so you can take your own drinks in (no glass bottles) and you can take your own food in with you. We always say to take your own food so you can snack throughout the day and take your own drinks but to always make sure you try some of the festival food to get the true experience as there is SO much on offer.

There is lots of stuff you can do without spending "too much" whilst you are there, with lots of free stuff on offer. We took Fillmore with us so the having the van there was brilliant, as we could just pop back and cook, get changed, grab more drinks etc. We were also lucky enough to go when it was Camp Bestival's 15th Birthday so we had an absolute ball the whole weekend followed by an epic firework and light display.

We would highly recommend this festival if you are thinking about a bigger festival with younger kids but expect to stay up late - if you are anything like us you will want to party so make sure you have a good trolly that your kid(s) can hop into when they are feeling tired for a kip (we always take a blanket and pillow with us in the trolley for Jax).
